Lekki Port Commissions Scanning Machine to Fast-track Cargo Evacuation

During the brief ceremony, the Managing Director, Du Ruogang pledged that Lekki Port and Lekki Freeport Terminal remain committed to shaping the future of container handling in Nigeria and beyond for greater efficiency and greater capacity.

The management of Lekki Deep Sea Port has commissioned a state-of-the-art scanning facility, known as the Non-intrusive Inspection System to fast-track the examination and evacuation of containers from the port.

The facility was commissioned on Wednesday by the Customs Area Comptroller for Lagos Free Zone, Dorothy Omogbehin.

The Nuctech FS 6000 non-intrusive scanning equipment is the best in class for security solutions.

Its presence in the port will further fast-track the process of examination and evacuation of containers.

During the brief ceremony, the Managing Director, Du Ruogang pledged that Lekki Port and Lekki Freeport Terminal remain committed to shaping the future of container handling in Nigeria and beyond for greater efficiency and greater capacity.

He also noted that the scanning facility would improve container handling turnaround time and ensure greater national security.

“We are grateful to Lagos Free Zone, Lekki Worldwide Limited, Nigerian Ports Authority, Nigeria Customs Services & all other stakeholders for taking time out of their busy schedule at short notice to attend the ceremony and a demonstration of the facility by the NCS scanning team”, he said.
